Overview

After free time for a coffee, we have arranged an optional walking tour, the City and Cathedral Highlights Tour, exploring the City and Cathedral. This special joint tour, run by the St Albans City Guides and Cathedral Guides, is designed to offer an experience which highlights some of the fascinating places and stories of St Albans City and the Cathedral. Lasting 90 minutes (45 minutes for the City and 45 minutes for the Cathedral). The tour starts outside the new St Albans Museum & Gallery in the city centre and finishes in the Cathedral. If you don’t fancy the walking tour and would rather do your own thing. St Albans hosts its historic Charter Market every Wednesday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM along St Peter’s Street. There are as many as 150 stalls on this day, one of the largest in the southeast. If history is your thing then you may want to visit The St Albans Museum & Gallery that houses over 2000 years of priceless heritage or The Verulamium Museum the award winning museum showcasing many wonderful artefacts from when St Albans was the site of the third largest city of Roman Britain, see some of the finest Roman Mosaics outside of the Mediterranean region. There are plenty of good eateries to find lunch.
