Overview

The front section of the garden is colour themed in pink, purple and white. There are roses, herbaceous borders, a herb garden and a parterre. Within the parterre is the pictorial meadow in orange, pink, white and purples which is planted annually. It attracts many bees and butterflies and changes colour day by day as the different poppies flower.  Further down the garden the hot border of reds, oranges and hot pinks, fronts the terrace and comes into its own later in the season.  There is circular seating area under a stately oak tree, partially surrounded with predominantly green and white shade and draught tolerant plants.  At the very bottom of the garden they have turned the problem of a badly wind damaged Redwood into a much admired feature by having it greatly reduced in size and then carved by Ant Beetlestone into a fish sculpture which both hangs above the pond and reflects in it. They are very lucky to have many other mature trees and have added to those by planting a variegated Tulip tree, French Walnut and three Cornus. We begin with a coffee stop at Squires Garden Centre before making our way to Haslemere where you will have time for lunch.  We will arrive at Bardsey at approximately 2pm and enjoy an introductory talk before time to explore the gardens and enjoy Tea and Cake.
