Overview
The garden is not open to the public today so we will be the only people there. We arrive at 12.15 and you can have lunch in the tearoom, main meals, light lunches or sandwiches etc. (not included in price but I need to know numbers so please indicate on booking form). The tea room is opening specially for us. We then have free flow around the garden before time for tea. Depart garden at about 3.30pm. In autumn the garden is ablaze with colour. The many Acers, Liquidambers, Nyssas, Fothergillas and Disanthus put on a dazzling display. Nyssa Sylvatica ‘High Beeches’ was awarded a First Class Certificate by the RHS in 1968. A native of North America it is one of the finest of the autumn colour trees. We hope a walk in this beautiful place will offer a moment of peace and calm during these times. We will be asking staff and visitors to follow government guidance on social distancing. The High Beeches Gardens Conservation Trust was formed in 1987 to care for this important historic garden. The Trust is keen not only to care for the many exotic plants but also for the native flora, fauna, fungi and insects which are to be found here. Some of the plants in the garden are rare in their native habitats and it is important that they should be grown in as many different places as possible to preserve their genetic material. High Beeches Tea Room: We have set out new guidelines inside the tearoom and ask guests to wait outside to be shown to your table. All staff will be fully trained on our new guidelines and hand sanitizer will be readily available. We will be offering the main bulk of our menu and offering full table service so you can sit back relax and be waited on. We would encourage pre booking due to reduced tables inside and out. FULLY BOOKED BUT WE WILL ARRANGE A SECOND DATE.
