Overview
Barry Wordsworth (conductor). Rebecca Bottone (soprano). Conductor Laureate Barry Wordsworth leads us on a waltz across the dance floors of 19th century Europe, exploring the life and loves of those frequenting these elegant ballrooms and salons, accompanied by the immediately recognisable music of the Strauss family. We will also introduce you to a few works perhaps not so well known. Back by popular demand, following her nearly sold out appearance with the Brighton Phil last New Year’s Eve, the soprano Rebecca Bottone returns to lighten our afternoon with a selection of wonderful arias from operettas and delightful songs from the 19th century and beyond.
