We will be the first group to visit Cumberland Lodge as it has not been open to the public before. We begin at Savill Garden where you have time to explore these wonderful gardens and also to get lunch at the marvellous café there. We then move on to Cumberland Lodge, now a residential conference centre of considerable style, and previously a Royal residence, we invite you to step inside to learn some of the history of this fascinating building. Originally constructed in the mid-17th Century, Cumberland Lodge has been home to Royalty and Dukes. Princess Helena, daughter of Queen Victoria lived here with her husband Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein, and, prior to that it was the home to both the first Duke of Marlborough and his wife Sarah, and William, Duke of Cumberland, second son of King George II, from whom it takes its present day name. Groups will be able to enjoy the splendid interiors, fine furnishings and paintings, and understand more about the past and present day life of this most historic of buildings.
Price includes Savill Gardens, the Tour and tea and biscuits.
