Overview
Jack, our guide, is an Open City trained tour guide. His walking tours of London’s hidden history are fun-filled with a focus on the quirky and off-the-beaten-track. Discover a lesser-known area of London but one that is packed with history. We will tread in the footsteps of the incredible mix of people who have lived in the area over the centuries from poor street urchins and pedlars to Tudor princes, the visionary William Blake and the brilliant Charlie Chaplin. There will also be plenty of architectural treasures along the way, including the red-brick 16th century gatehouse of Lambeth Palace and the gloriously elaborate Doulton factory building. We will split into two groups and divide our time between the walking tour and the IWM. The walking tour is at a nice slow pace and all on the level. Lunch, toilets and coffee are all available at the IWM.
