Overview
The ‘Finest Spring Gardens in England’, the 240 acre Leonardslee estate at Lower Beeding, near Horsham in West Sussex. We enjoy the beautiful landscaped Grade I listed gardens, first planted in 1801. See the outstanding spring displays of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, magnolias and bluebells. Restoration began when the present owner, Penny Streeter OBE, acquired the estate in 2017. Penny and her team are dedicated to restoring, maintaining and further improving the gardens and buildings, so that the public can once again experience their beauty and special qualities. Visitors can explore a wide range of features including the unique dolls’ house exhibition – and the rare colony of wallabies, wildfowl and huge carp in the seven ponds. There is a wide selection of refreshments available from the new restaurants and tea rooms. High-end dining and afternoon teas are served in the Mansion House and casual fare is served in the Clockhouse and other food stations throughout the gardens.
